How And Why To Use Alcohol For Cleaning

It is better if various surfaces are cleaned with alcohol only due to its effective disinfecting and evaporating properties. Alcohol as a cleaning agent has been used for decades and is not a new thing. But still, it confuses many minds who doubt its usability for cleaning purposes.

The two alcohols – Ethyl alcohol and Isopropyl alcohol are mostly used for wiping and impurifying things in cleaning industry due to their various properties which are mentioned below:

Presence of H2O in the Correct Amount

Water is an essential element in cleaning products as it gives them their wiping properties. It is true that water is a necessity for cleaning almost everything, but if the presence of water in a cleaning compound exceeds the limit and reaches the point from where it cannot be absorbed, that compound can no longer be called good for cleaning. Alcohols, on the other hand, have the right amount of water present in them which dries up quickly after spreading on a surface for cleaning.

Does Not Reside Any Impurities or Stains

A good cleaning product will never leave any stains behind, which most cleaning products of our daily life do. Pure alcohols have the property to evaporate quickly, and after cleaning the accumulated dirt they fade away automatically. Which is why they don’t leave any stain behind like water, and other liquids do on many substances.

Reaction with Plastic

Different plastics have different chemical resistance to various alcohols. Although many alcohols react to plastic on touching its surface. Isopropyl alcohol is used as a cleaning agent, it does not react with plastic and beats many chemicals in cleaning plastic surfaces.

We may not have noticed it yet but alcohol, in our daily life, can be used for cleaning many things like electronic devices, screens, lenses, plastic pieces, mirror, greasy substances, sticky substances, garden tools, etc. So, as you see, it would be better to replace your cleaning products with alcohol for cleaning such things.
